Gemmipass

An ancient trade route and a postal route: the Gemmi was once the most frequented pass in the Alps! It connects the cantons of Bern and Valais. In the middle of the pass at 2061 m.a.s.l. stands one of the oldest inns in Alpine Valais: the Berghotel Schwarenbach. Then as now, the mountain inn is in the right place; it is a stage destination or starting point for mountain tours and numerous hikes.

The location offers a haven of relaxation amidst the remoteness of the high Alps.

Total of 65 beds with showers and toilets on each floor.   

 In addition, there is a mattress dormitory and a winter room (shelter) with cooking facilities. 

Restaurant, hall, theory room and terrace with a total of over 200 seats.
